When McAlister Kemp’s new album Country Proud was released in March, not only did it debut at #1 on the ARIA Country Album chart, but as high as #18 on the mainstream album sales chart as well.
‘Home’ is the third single from the Matt Fell produced Country Proud album.
‘Home’ touches on the fundamental family and blue collar values typified in all of McAlister Kemp’s music.
“Home is what it’s about, especially when you ain't been there for a while. This song has great Australian imagery with a real sense of longing to be right there in it”, say McAlister Kemp.
‘Home’ was given to McAlister Kemp by the track’s songwriter Don Walker, who along with his extensive credits as a songwriter and band member for Cold Chisel, wrote the legendary Slim Dusty tune ‘Looking Forward, Looking Back’ as well as co-writing the APRA Award winning song ‘Everything’s Going To Be Alright.’
“When you hear the name Don Walker you think great songs. We were very fortunate to get to record one of those great songs by this iconic Australian songwriter,” say McAlister Kemp.
“It was a pleasure to record and fingers crossed Don thinks that we have done it justice!”
